Description: The major source of wealth of typical Americans comes from their homes. Yet, the real estate market is often misunderstood due to its complexities. In this workshop, you’ll learn about current local trends in real estate and how COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lending industry, one decade after the start of the subprime mortgage crisis. You'll also learn how you can use the the local real estate market to teach students the difference between and importance of mean, median, model. This workshop is led by FSCJ economist Dr. Tina Angjellari-Dajci. Dr. Dajci routinely discusses real estate applications in her economics classes. Since 2012, she has written several research papers on the economics of real estate, using large datasets from the Northeast Florida real estate market (NEFAR MLS) in the last two decades.
